28th January 2012 – it’s been a bittersweet day for us, Millie has given birth to four beautiful babies, but Maisie had just one perfect little boy, stillborn. We tried everything we knew to get him to breathe, but nothing worked.
The good news is that both Mums are snuggled up together, with two babies each, so Maisie has some babies to love. They are both purring and padding their paws, washing each other and the babies, so all is well.
We are really excited about these special babies as the stud is our gorgeous Fynnie’s grandson and there are lots of really beautiful cats in this pedigree. The kittens will be blues and lilacs, due around 8th November. Can’t wait!
We are thrilled to announce that Syralette Perle d’Azure, Maisie’s beautiful lilac boy won 1st Open, Best of Breed and Best of Variety Semi-Longhair Kitten at the Teesside Show. He is just 18 weeks old. Maisie, Syralette Sweet Sensation and Dad, Champion Norvin Royalpride, have really come up trumps to produce such superb kittens, the first litter for Maisie too. Can’t wait for next year.
Truffle has recovered from the trauma of last weekend and she is now enjoying the role of Granny to Millie’s kittens, who can’t understand why they’re being washed so much!
We had a lovely day at the Chester & North Wales Cat Show on Saturday, when Champion Syralette Amethyst, our beautiful lilac girl (Amy), was awarded her 2nd Grand Champion Certificate and Best of Breed. She just needs one more G C C to become a Grand Champion.
Maisie’s chocolate tabby kitten, Syralette Mamselle Koko, was there in her very first show and she too was placed first in her Open Class, also winning Best of Breed and she then went on to win Best of Variety Semi-Longhair Kitten. This is an amazing achievement for such a young kitten, she is just 16 weeks old, and we are very, very proud of her. A big Thank You to Jan, her new owner, for presenting her so beautifully on the day. Good luck for the future.
We are really sad to announce that Truffle had two kittens last night – both were stillborn. We have no idea what went wrong this time, but at least Truffle is OK and we must be grateful for that.
We’ve decided that she has more than done her bit for the Syralette prefix and she will now be spayed and take her place as ‘honorary Gran’ to all our future kittens. Millie and Maisie, her two daughters, will hopefully carry on her lines and produce as many beautiful babies as Truffle has.
